Current farrier seems to be ignoring my calls/texts and ponies can't wait so need a farrier. Would ideally like one who is a bit more reliable than current and previous farrier, so recommendations please? I've had a look on the FRC which is where i found current farrier but it's difficult to know what they're like and what sort of job they'll do, so interested to hear which farriers people can recommend, horses are in south oxfordshire/bucks border.
Thanks
:)

Have you tried Sam Terry, I only used him once before pony was put to sleep, but he was on time, gentle but firm with the old boy, and very friendly/ easy to get hold of. He sent me a lovely email when pony was pts. I would use him again, if the need ever arises!
He is based at Chesham, but came out to Marsh for me!

Nickslynn - may sound random but what did Sam Terry look like? I used a farrier about 8 years ago called Sam and would love to get back in contact with him! Wondered whether this was the same Sam! His surname also rang a bell and we are in right area!

Thanks for suggestions, looked into crendon farriers last time i was looking for a farrier and they were very expensive, much more expensive than any other farrier round here

Wouldn't use Simon Creedy of Wellshod.

Although the work he does is lovely and is very reasonably priced, he is extremely unreliable. I have been attempting to contact him for well over a month to do one of my youngsters (one I'm selling) and he told me he was liaising with a friend when in fact she hadn't heard from him for months; he told me he would contact me one week and then when I got fed up he said he was on holiday...he even let me down with doing my mare who had been recovering from collapsed heels - he knew she had to be done every 4 weeks on the dot and he went awol for 2 weeks, couldn't get another farrier for a week and I gave him hell for it.

I would love to carry on with him but I can't take the unreliability - I need to know that he is there for my horse and I can't trust him to be.

Sorry for rant!! :D
