Can anyone recommend a farrier that covers Perth area? Mine appears to have dropped off the face of the earth, and after a month of trying to get hold of him I'm giving up.

Try on the web - I think its the farriers registration council?
I phoned a lot on there last year and eventually got one - I think a lot are very busy though and dont want to take on new people. Worth a try to give them a call though.

I'll give them a try. I would rather get recommendations off people than just ring random numbers off the website. Just because have had a few bad experiences with farriers so quite wary.

I would add another vote for Alistair Smith, He did my horse before I moved down south and always did an excellent job. The only difficulty was getting hold of him, which sometimes took well over a week! But a very good farrier. I still have his mobile no, if you want it, just PM me!
