As long as all goes to plan and doesn't fall through we should be moving to the above area in a couple of months.

Would be greatful (grateful?) for recommendations for vets and farriers.

Will also have room for a couple of liverys if anyone is interested..........

I used to live neare there, well in Caunton. I used to go to either a place in Farndon for feed (just off main road so very easy to find), or there's a big feed shop in Newark industrial estate, part of a chain though i have completely forgotten the name sorry! There's minster vets in Southwell (though I found them pretty expensive), changed instead to one in mansfield though this is probably too far from you. Used a lovely farrier called Henry, pm me if you want his number, think i still have it. Also Calum was good. It is lovely up there, lots of bridleways and field edges to ride round! I miss it. Hope it goes well for you!

I'm not in Newark but my farrier is based there. He's an ex-army farrier and is fantastic - even with my old boy who is a pain in the @rse to do anything with his back legs.

PM me if you want his contact details.

Also there is Gauntleys tack shop/ feed merchants at Dunham on Trent which isn't far from Newark.

I defiantly recommend Gauntleys as well. Also CWG on Newark industrial estate for feed, I think this may have been the same place PaintedLucky was thinking off too. I used Glen from Equity Shoeing when I was living near Newark.

I'm not far from Newark, and there are plenty of Feed merchants/ tack shops around. I think Chukka Cove at Farndon is still on the go, then you've got CWG which has already been mentioned on Newark Industrial estate. If you're quite a bit further north of Newark, there is Retford Saddlery and Cobbs country store too!! My farrier doesn't goas far as Newark but i've heard good things about Glyn Trundle at Coddington and also Callum Grant of Coddington. Vets wise ive been really impressed recently with Minster Vets at Southwell, very professional and efficient. Hope your move goes ok!!

Although I do not live in the area my farrier does and he is a saint! I have two mares that are a complete pain with back hooves. This saint is Iian McGregor

He has been doing my horses for about 8 years now. Never been cross with the girls inspite of one of the cows sending him in a nice backward roll across the yard.

Erinite - Ian is my farrier too who deals with my pain in the ass boy!!

Also forgot to mention in my previous post we use Rase vets from Market Rasen basically on certain days in certain areas they do free callout.

Just had a quick look and its a Wednesday for Newark. Very good for vaccs etc!!!
