My new boy has some slightly different than standard shoes on... I wondered if anyone could tell me what they are called please so I can explain to my new farrier :) It looks like the toe is reinforced.

Thanks in advance!

OK thank you very much :D

I've never seen/used them before to be honest! He was happy with his previous owners for 6 years so I will continue to use them, but just a little worried about trying to explain it to a farrier.

Is that definitely what they are then?

Yes I definitely think that's what they are, my boy was shod with them for quite a while and they looked exactly like that!

Do they have toe clips? NB shoes dont....

Nope there's no toe clips on the front but there is two on the back like normal shoes. Should any farrier be able to do them? Thanks sorry for all the questions!!

A qualified farrier should be able to recognise how your horse is currently shod and discuss with you whether to continue to shoe in the same fashion or he may suggest different shoes. :)

My girl doesn't have toe clips so not unusual. Cud be rolled toes? When farrier comes ask him to shoe the same way - it shouldn't be a problem. If he insists on shoeing differently find another farrier. Last farrier who shod my horse made her lame doing it his, way! Cud u ring previous farrier or owner to ask?
