In the winter I usually feed some speedi beet but a couple of weeks ago I changed to fast fibre as it was lower in everything. My mare hasn't gone silly.........yet.
I really can't see it being the Fast Fibre - which is really just a hay replacer with added vitamins and minerals. It's probably one of the lowest energy feeds you can get!
Yes reading the ingredients you wouldn't think so, but if the crazy continues then maybe it might be worth stopping it and seeing. Thanks for the replies
I have been wondering the same thing recently!
Looking st the ingredients it really shouldn't but she does seem to have a lot more energy and be a lot more jumpy than usual (even before the spring grass came) so I'm wondering if there is any chance that it could be the sugar beet in the fast fibre?
Has anyone else experienced that?
Our Grey Mare went completely whappy on Speadibeet. She's now kept off anything other than Top Spec Balancer and grass and hay (sugar free Polos and no carrots!). Anything new is feed in very small amounts and built up slowly to check her response
I know this is an old thread but In case anyone reading thru old posts about fast fibre
i can honestly say it turned my sweet and lovely 4 year old into a bolting jumping outta her skin nervous wreck !
Shame cz i love using it and the ponies wolf it down
Only other thing too was that it seemed to cause more wee and strong smelling !
