I am using Allen and Page Fast Fibre for my old pony, she is 40 years old and cannot eat hay. I am not sure how much she is allowed in one feed, I am using it as a total hay replacer, have emailed the feed company but not had a reply, does anyone have any ideas?
Thank you!

If using as a total hay replacer you should be able to leave her with a large tubful for her to pick at as and when she wants, as she would if you gave her hay. It is just fibre so will not be the same as feeding her a bucket of cereal feed which her digestive system would not cope with.

I'm surprised you haven't had a reply, I emailed them last week about Veteran Vitality and got a lengthy reply even recommending other brands than just A&P. they also sent me an information package and a voucher towards their products.

I was asking which product to feed an elderly TB and they recommended their Veteran Vitality over Fast Fibre as it has a higher calorie content and they also suggested using AlfaA Oil. Anyway I hope they reply to your email as the response I got was in depth and very helpful.

i gave it to my TB when i first got her as she was very thin and i literally gave her bucket loads. she went back and fore to eat, never ate it in one go so i dont think you need to worry....unless you have a complete gannet, but even then its all just fibre so i think your pony would be ok.
