Just wondered how palatable Fast Fibre was compared to C&C. Horse is quite fussy but absolutely devours C&C mixed with umolassed chaff. She is quite lively though so if the C&C sends her potty, I wondered about the Fast Fibre. I have only been experimenting for the last day though so no idea about the C&C yet!!

Any thoughts?

It only matters that your horse finds it palatable. So find someone at your yard that uses it and ask for a bit to try. My horse happily scoffs fast fibre , but that is little good to you.

My horse seems to love it and he used to have c&c years ago. I would say he likes the F&F better but that maybe due to the other feed he is on now. The F&F is much lower in calories and was suggested to me by the company’s rep for a horse that gets silly on extra energy instead of giving C&C.
If you contact them or maybe try a local feed company they often do small trial bags for free.

I found our fussy horse liked it at first, but then went off it. As someone else has said, it is significantly lower in calories than C&C so if you are feeding for condition then you will need to feed a greater quantity than you do of C&C.

My mare wasn't keen on FF - she'd eat it but always left some. She much prefers Cool & Collected and that hasn't sent her nuts. Get a few sample bags to try - most feed merchants have them or buy a scoop or two of someone who uses it? I guess it will be a case of try it an see.

I have to agree, their customer service is excellent, they gave me a full sack of FF to try ben out after I had met with their rep, which was a no pressure session, she condition scored him, we discussed his work, and then we sat having a cuppa and chatting horses in general. :)

very impressed with allen and page, the rep has come to our yard with a weighbridge and done condition scoring etc, nice quality feed too

I'm an Allen & Page fan too. We use their FF :), my boy has no quarms with it and I just use it as a 'carrier' for his bespoke vits and mins that are needed with being an EMS'er.

Suits us :) and a bag last us about 3 months or so, as he only had about 200gms of the stuff once a day.
