Just been reading a thread about this but its 4yrs old! Found it very interesting but would like a little more info. I currently feed AP Fast Fibre, mollichaff calmer and Heywoods Conditioning Cubes but after reading the article wondered if my two TB girls would benefit from the added calories in the speedibeet that fast fibre doesn't have without it "hotting" them up? Which one would be best or would a mix of the two be better?
Thanks x

Ours went through most of the winter fine on Speedibeat, other than Grey Mare (IDxTB). No idea what was in the Speedibeat to cause it, but it sent her whappy! Think 180 degree leaps, cantering sideways the full length of the school, and handstand bucks. Even D1 was starting to look a little cross-eyed at the antics.

We stopped the Speedibeat and within a week or so (I don't remember the exact time period), she was back to her normal only slightly bouncy self.

The other three - Trad cob, Welsh cross, and DWB were and still are fine on it.

For weight gain without heat, I like Saracen's Releave and their Equijewel. Putting both Dizzy (DWB) and Grey Mare back onto it. Also considering it for Little Lad.

you're basically currently feeding 2 different complete feeds (fast fibre and conditioning cubes), speedibeet is not a complete feed just a fast absorbing sugar beet, if it's calories you're looking at gaining have a look at dengie alpha-beet, it's alf alfa combined with sugar beet for condition.
