You can get a "T" bar that slips under the back of the panels under the cantle; that's what I use for any of the saddles that don't have a crupper loop. Possibly get a saddler to make them, although they are also commercially available.

Depending on the material that your tree is made from, it may not be possible to securely screw a handle type thingy on to the cantle.

I have one of the T bars but I don't really like them, I just want to try and find the proper fitting to screw on.
