Does any one have any recommendations for a large calf???! Years of netball and riding have engrained me with chunky legs and I cannot fit a decent pair of long riding boots :(

They measure 16" round calf and 16" from heel to back of knee. I am a bit fussy in that I'd like a field boot as I like laces and I like the high curve on the outside of the leg rather than a flat line. I quite ike the Mountain Horse Supreme High rider but they simply don't fit.

Same problem, which I solve with Ariats & half-chaps. For wellies I find nothing beats the Toggi ladies with the vent in the side. Mine take serious abuse & I get 2 years hard work from a pair, most others give up in one winter.

Off to hide now as someone will put up another post anti-fat people riding as I don't have skinny calves!

Ooohh thanks for info on wellies as was after a decent pair of fitted wellies too! Thank you!

Don't hide pip6!!! People can post about anti-fat people riding all day long, just because you have chubby calves doesnt mean you're fat!! I'm a size 10/12, but just have wrestler's legs!!!! Years of playing netball and pounding a treadmill has done it!!

I also have this problem - slim ankles, chunky calf. Mountain Horse do all of their boots in a wide option and they fit me nicely

My local saddlery stocks Mountain Horse but every time I'd tried one of their boots on they didnt fit, maybe I was trying on teh regular size......I do like Mountain Horse so will revisit and see if they stock wide sizes in the shop as would prefer to try and buy than buy direct online. Thank you!

I have this problem too. I have Toggi Calgary wide fit and they're great for everyday. For smarter wear (I didn't want to spend a fortune as it's not that often that I compete) I have Rhinegold leather boots (about £60) in a wide leg fit. They're a bit baggy on the ankle but they do the job - for that price and the amount I wear them, I can't complain!

Im the same, tiny ankles, muscly ballet calves - ariat grassmeres are the ones for me, leather with separate lacing for ankle and calf, ankle ones done up ight the calf ones nearly slack lol.

I couldnt get my legs down equitector or mark todd ones :o

I have 17" calves and I have very long legs. I have always struggled and until recently I have never had a pair of long boots as I can't get any to fit.

I have a pair of Mountain Horse (wide fitting) and they just about squeeze on but are not comfortable. I now have the Tuffa Norfolk (wide fitting) and they are quite comfy :)
I can't find any field boots that will fit though :(

For casual country boots I can't recommend the HKM boots enough. I got mine from Olympia for £89 year before last and they are the warmest/comfiest and most waterproof boots ever. Lovely over a pair of jeans.
No problem with my enormous calves.

Wellies - I have Aigle. Plenty of room for my legs/jeans/welly socks. :)
