Ok picture of Cloudy - who has been off for 8 months and on limited work for 12 weeks due to Pelvic issue.
He currently weights 603kg, and an ID type at 16.1.

I reacon he is a 4 through his shoulder and 3.5 elsewhere on a 1-5 scale.
What are your thoughts

He has been in a muzzle since february (was off for ten mins to get picture taken and to grrom his pal. He gets a hay/straw mix last thing at night and has 6 hours grazing in day.

There not the best photos to tell from but from what you can see although he's not huge but he does look porky, if it was me then I wouldn't want any more on him and I'd probably restrict his grazing a bit more, hopefully when you up his work it will drop off nicely, if he's anything like my ID cross (and he's the dead spit of his build too), no doubt he looks better with some weight on during summer but I have to keep a close eye on my lads weight and make sure he's getting enough exercise through summer, so I can imagine if he's on limited exercise then it will be difficult in your case.

Lovely chap though, I like his colouring.

He looks fine and just like a grey version of my IDxTB!!! He is 16.1hh and weighs with D&H weight tape 555 but he is worked everyday. I find because he is solid that people assume he is fat. He also looks bigger than other horses if he puts on a bit.

Hi yeah think his build makes him deceptive - as people think he is huge! Only 16.1 but can carry his head really high like a giraffe!!!

He has really filled out over the last 10 months - got a massive front.

Hoping yes as we up the work he will drop some kilos - vet wants him down by 20 kilos. Main fat area I have is behind the shoulder - the rest is firm. Also the tummy will tighten up with more correct work.

thanks

How old is he. Mine is now 14yrs and has really filled out since we brought him as a 7yr old. The trouble with their build he that if they get too big they tend to look like they have a big body and little legs :D
