Fat, pregnant or something else? *pics*

good luck!

my mare is begiing to look a lot like the mare in your pics!

iwas on the fence about mine but id put money on yours being pregnant! :)

Thanks! I'm so excited to find out!

She's not my mare, but her owner has VERY kindly said I can have the foal as a wedding present ( once weaned etc of course).

This means so much to me, as I have 3 empty fields, a grass arena and a feild shelter ( well my dad does :p) and have longed for another horse after losing my two early last year.

The field needs a bit of work since been lying empty, but I'll have plenty of time to sort it.

I've broken in a few horse, and brought on a few youngsters, but the thought of having a baby from birth and teaching it from the very sratch is a lovely thought. I'm a forever horse person ,so it would be amazing to have such a strong bond with a horse for all its life.

My poor friend unfortunately is hoping she is not pregant. She bought her as her last horse was unsuitable for her to ride - the last thing she wants is to have another horse she cant ride ( albeit for the short term)

oh good luck :D

Thanks!!

This has just happened to me with my 4 year old. She looks very much like your mare and I worked it out because she had her rug let out 4 times in 5 days! I think it is the shape of the tummy that is the give away, low slung rather than fat.

The vets think my mare will foal sometime from February onwards and tracing back through the dealer that would be about right. Good luck with it, hope you have a lovely foal and do pm me if you want to chat to someone who is also 'a maiden' with a mare and foal.

Everyone on here has been really helpful to me so far so keep asking questions, they are a great help.

Yeah it was the shape of her than got to me, just doesnt look fat, she's low like you said.

I'l bombard you with pm's lol, think I may also find some good books about foals and do some extra studying! :o

Yeah if she is in foal, there will be many more threads to come! :o:p
