Fella is around a 3.5 (we are working on it, have only had him a month and before that he was out of work for basically a year) so I put him as a 4. Silly fattie, fattie, boom, boom!

Bella is between 2 and 3 but she's only 10 months old. How does the scoring work for foals? Is it the same ?

One at 2.5 (Cushings trying to stay slim) and one at 3.5 (needs work--my fault not his)

ISHY the current scale in use is the 0-5 which can be confusing at times when speaking to someone who uses the older scale up to 9

FB is a 3.5 and MoM is between 2 and 3.

FB is just a 'rounded' sort (honest!) and MoM is 22 years old with a tough life behind her, so we are fattening her up a bit.

I'm going to be honest and put 4 - she's getting fat on fresh air at the moment, despite being on an old poached paddock and being very regularly exercised.

She's incidentally as fit as a fiddle, under all the padding!

I'm so pleased as 3 months ago when I got her she was almost a 1!!! Thankfully with some decent grub and a little less work she has finally got coverage, hurray!!!

I would say Ella is spot on 3. Someone said to me the other day that they thought she was thin...but i can barely feel her ribs, her hip is covered and her neck isn't fat at all. She needs a bit more muscle, but she isnt fat and she isnt skinny. Her coat is lovely and shiny as well.

Mine is more 4 than 3 as we have a never ending battle keeping the weight off. He has steadily been loosing weight since April so I am pleased with that continuing and he is 20kg lighter than when he came out of winter. I ride 6 days a week and do as much as physically possible and he is on restricted grazing and 2 year old hay...cant do much more than that really!

Mines 5, and im really pissed about it, he has to live out and didnt loose any weight all winter! even with a LW waterproof.

Now the blooming grass has come through, hes even fatter even on NO grass, just DIRT!!

He works hard and can gallop up the field 3 time in a 10acre field, he actually quite fit, vet said he has a slow matabalism!

NOT FAIR!!!!

I would say a four

But I have now put a grazing muzzle on him and will carry on with the riding for a couple of hours 5 times a week

Fly is a 5 at the moment but the grazing muzzle arrived today and has gone on, so it should start coming off

Figgy I'd say was a 3.5

Flicka is a 3 and so is Matti I reckon

i would say 5 he lives on fresh air out in day an stravy paddock in at night with hay that is soaked for 24hrs worked 5 days a week and on a handfull of hi fi lite!

I would say Saffron is between 3 and 4 (leaning towards 4). She's a Welsh Cob, and has a massive crest, it's solid. However she doesn't have a pot-belly, you can just about feel her ribs (if you press hard) she has a very slight apple bottom but not really. She mainly keeps all her fat in her neck, and I can't seem to get rid of it!

My coblet is a 2.5 - never more than a 3 as she has had lami so is strictly controlled whether she likes it or not!!

My wb is a 3 - had been creeping up to 3.5 but is on restricted grazing and is acting like he has malnutrition.......

Both of mine are in regular work (hack over 3 hours regularly, school, jump etc) so are fit, shiny and generally perky. However will both claim to anyone that will listen that they are slowly being starved to death......bloody drama queens!!
