i was hunting around some pics today and i found these
they are of what was to become my "pony of a life time" when i first got involved with her , she did get laminitis shortly after the first pic was taken and was incredibly lucky not to be pts it took three of us two hours to get her to shuffle out of the field

(please do not rant at me i did not own her at the time) i know she was a welfare case and understand how cruel it was of her former owners to allow her to get to this size
she was eventually given to me but at first her owners had a lot of say in her management , she was initially kept in a starvation paddock to deal with the lami , then began some exercise , once she was sound she was chucked back out into a 15 acre field
the only change in her management was increased exercise and loads of it and eventually she looked like this

i'm hoping that will give some of you struggling with good doers some inspiration and show how important exercise is in getting the weight off
