I went to view a horse for possible purchase at the weekend and he had the most bizzare rump. He had, what looked like, fatty deposits on top of his rump, almost like cellulite. Has anyone seen anything like this. I did not go ahead with the purchase, with much regret I must add, I really did like the horse he ticked most boxes for me.
Another way to describe it is to say that he looked like he had backed into a low door and half of his rump had been pushed forward. Strange but true.

have seen this on an arab gelding and a welsh D.. It looks odd and tends to be very difficult to shift the fat pads.. Both horses are good allrounders..

My Welsh C has this, it's got some posh name that I can't remember, according to my vet is relatively common in Welsh cobs. Hasn't affected her at all performance wise, she dressages at Medium, has evented, hunted etc etc, if I liked the horse enough, unless I wanted to show, it wouldn't stop me from buying, but the pads on your horse sound larger than mine.

My friends Arab X has this, as does a user names Chex's horse.

My friends horse events and it has never caused a problem. Shame as she is such a pretty mare too.

My Section D looks a bit like that - all sorts of problems with a saddle. Do you mean "croup high" or am I on the wrong track? Mind you, the rest of my Section D has all sorts of wobbly bits that I like to tell everyone is pure, solid, rippling muscle. But I suspect its pure, solid, rippling fat. xxx

Sunnymum,

Yes he would look "croup high", very high, but it looks like a cobbler loaf, almost like he has a cherry on top of his cake.
