HI,

Just wondering whether there is a limit to the amount of fat a horse should have it it's diet. My boy has Alfa a oil plus a mug full of oil (soya at the moment) and a couple of handfulls of sunflower seeds. I do want him to gain a little more weight but is this too much fat?

Also is Soya oil better than corn/vegetable/sunflower oil?

I can't get haylage in small enough qtys but he gets plenty of hay. He had conditioning cubes but was too excitable on them so I have now changed tham back to normal cubes except for half a scoop of baileys no 4 conditioning cubes each day.

that amount of fat is fine for a horse many on here feed a high oil diet with a lot more to their horses for EPSM. the only thing you need to bear in mind that if you increase the amount of oil further you will need to supplement with Vtamin E and Selenium (I think to remember that it is anythying over 300ml)
