Fatty Saff surprises us all...yet again!

My circumferentially-challenged Welsh D, 17, has, once again, asserted her right to do whatever she wants whenever she wants. I've been wiped out by a flu bug (missed going to Badminton...grrrrrrrrr) and so decided to loose school her last night. She did one circuit of nice big trot and then, totally nonchalantly, popped the five bar gate at the end of the arena and p***** off to the field. No warning. No hesitation in her jump. I think the place we are moving to at the end of June will have to be kitted out with stallion fencing as she a) jumps electric fencing, or b) takes electric fencing down with her teeth(!!!) or c) as we now know..jumps five-barred gates. Next lesson with trainer will be interesting! She cannot con us into treating her as an aging lady.....!! I have to hand it to her! She's a real character!

Actually our principal range of facial expressions and behaviours are 1) outraged aunt(" How could you make me do DRESSAGE!!! and WHY did Purdey[other pony] go in front of me? Has she forgotten who runs the show around here???; 2)long-suffering saint(Ok, OK, put the b***** bridle on, if you must! Valuable eating time going to waste here.."); 3)totally-focused on food(wild eyed and transfixed); 4)p***** off.."you aren't coming to RIDE me, are you? For C**** sake! You rode me YESTERDAY! What IS it with you?"
I should also add that she is only 14.2hh....hence the awe and wonder at the gate leap...she ain't Teddy O'Connor!!!
