Does anyone have one or experiences of them?
I was just wondering if they would be worth a look for my falling over in the trailer mare as they travel herringbone rather than forward
 
Sorry I don't know whether or not it would help your issue but my own experience wasn't good.
My horse had always been good to load, lorry or trailer so I tried to travel him in an oblic -very smart trailer from the outside.
Inside it is a very awkward shape to try to load the horses into, no room or light as it doesn't have front doors you can open and the partitians make it awkward.
Once by horse stepped up into the trailer his back legs were on the edge of the step and several times fell off as there wasn't a ramp. There wasn't just no room for him to get into position properly.
I then tried a lorry and he was obviously unsure and now I have a loading issue.

Like anything people have different opinions, before I tried it I put a post up and most reports were good. I hated it even before I tried to load the horse.
 
I have an oblic - not sure if coen is thinking of the same trailer as mine has 2 front doors - 1 which you can unload off (has a ramp) and the other is for the area which stores tack etc. It has plenty of light.

Mine takes 2 horses though I generally travel mine alone. There is PLENTY of room inside, once mine is in there is at least 2 foot between his back legs and the door. If you are loading 2 then I agree there isnt a lot of space at the back but honestly no less than an Ifor etc and there is a bum bar to stop them 'falling out'.

And it DOES have a ramp - it is a retractable one which pulls out from under the floor. I never use mine but it is there if you need it. The floor is very low so the step up is only about 12" anyway.

Honestly I think its the best trailer on the market. It's very solidly built and roomy.

The other horse that occasionally travels with us is not a good loader but he is fine in mine.
 
Here in the part of France where they are made, I would say 90 % of the locals use Fautras trailers in one guise or another.
My mare, used to a ramp all her life, loaded straight up into one without a ramp.
I would buy one if they were less expensive!
 
I have a Fautras Oblic trailer, its the only trailer I can safely travel my horse in as he tries to jump the breast bar in a normal trailer. There is a retractable ramp under the floor. Mine has no front exit so the horse turns to come out the back, some models do have front ramps.
If your horse falls over in a normal trailer the thing that will help and which is unique with the Fautras oblic, is the 'swinging' partition. The horse cannot lean on it as it moves if they try. Horses that fall over tend to brace against the partition - they can't do that in the Fautras oblic.
Mine does have a back bar which stops him trying to back out when both back doors are open. He travels at the back with a pony travelling companion in the front.
I love it, the quality is excellent, the horses travel well and its brilliant for youngsters as they cannot jump out. Without it I would not be able to travel him anywhere.
