Now I have started slimming world ( you will get bored of me talking about it :D ), I am trying to thing of things to cook that are tasty and interesting.

So I am looking through my cook books, finding ways to adapt them. And time and again prawns come up!!!

All the ideas sound delicious, but..... I now hate them, beforei had mini they were my fav, to the point that I would suck put the heads of king prawns, I now can't even bare to look at them, yuk!!!! Even bananas make my stomach turn!

So what did you love and now hate, or what did you hate and now love? My new love is goats cheese and olives.

Or am I just weird?

I was obsessed with chorizo, i could have eaten a whole chorizo sausage no problem! Now my babis out just the thought of chorizo makes me want to heave !!

I hated red meat from being tiny, the texture & smell repulsed me, & felt the same about vege alternatives. During pregnancy, I craved meat. I have v strong views on ethically produced meat, so except the odd free range bit it was mainly vege versions. Scoffed tons of Linda mcCartney stuff. McDonald's made me drool, but I resisted. And tbh, I still love vege burgers & sausages as much now.

I used to drink gallons of coffee before DC1 but as soon as I got pregnant I couldn't bear to even look at the stuff! And I haven't had a cup in 15 years! I think it's a defence mechanism- you're subconsciously protecting your baby from harmful substances... Caffein (sp), seafood, etc. That's what I read anyway, might be complete poo!

Not food, but i used to lick newspapers while pregnant. Stopped now:D

Was waiting in reception to see potential new customer, got caught in the act!:o

Wish the bodys natural defence mechanism had kicked in for me. Unfortunately, my rather awkward personality that hates being told no did. Because I knew I couldn't I also wanted all the things I couldn't have. Even stuff like loads of Coca-Cola & runny eggs that I hate, purely because they were off limits.

pickled raw cabbage couldn't get enough of the stuff and beef/onion hoolahoops with chocolate mouse (those cheapy ones with the cream on top in the pots) which I spent rather a long time putting hoop on finger dipping in pot of choc mouse. Haven't touched either since :D

Fruit any of the soft ones but particularly gooseberries...:D Would like some rhubarb but mine died off last year.

There are some weird people on here :D

Another question, do your kids dislike your crave foods? I know people whos kids cannot eat the food they craved during pregnancy :)

Daughters like me in that she only likes the occasional bit of white meat. But does love sausages, burgers, bacon etc. Won't eat chops or steaks though, just junk meat!

I had a terrible craving for tomato soup and tomato ketchup. It got really bad when I was craving acidic flavours and I drank some cider vinegar.
I went right off spicy foods and still can't eat them 6 months on. I also went off alcohol. I have had it since but don't like feeling drunk any more... Totally unlike me, I was a total beer monster! I went right off chicken as it was our wedding meal and I had the worst morning sickness on my wedding day, but couldn't let on I was pregnant so had to munch through the entire wedding breakfast!

I was a horror addict and went right off horror movies after giving birth...

Not so much food craving, but If anyone was creosoting fences I would smell them out! Just couldn't get enough of the smell :D

Food wise, the thought of drinking coffee made me heave but only while I was pregnant; I ate a lot of oranges but don't really like them now, I also ate a lot of pickle.

A friend of mine had to have chips with Cadbury's creme eggs yuk!

I had the overwhelming urge to chew on those little washing up sponges (you know the colorful ones you get in packs of 20 with the green rough bit on one side). It was horrible! I was sick all the time too, the only thing I could eat was little cheese and tomato pizzas, onion rings and satsuma oranges. The smell of garlic REALLY made me sick and my inlaws, who we lived with at the time, would always make garlic things like garlic kievs and garlic bread so I would have to sit there sniffing satsumas until everyone finished eating. The leftover garlic smell the next morning would make me violently sick too. This lasted right up until I had my son and it was a wonder I ballooned up to 15 1/2 stone with how sick I was all the time (lol, and the weight never came off for 6 years afterwards!).

Noblesteed my mum ate tons of tomatoe soup (homemade ) when she was carrying me and now i cant stand the stuff. one spoonful of any make of tomatoes soup makes me sick and give sme stomach ache. I have no kids thankfully but i did have toxomplasmosis 8 years ago and I could not stand the smell of coffee let alone drink any and still to this day if anyone makes a cup of coffee in the office or anywhere i really struggle not to be sick. I used to drink coffee happily before that.

Haha these are making me chuckle, crazy ladies.
I get cravings when I'm premenstrual so what the hell am I gonna be like pregnant :O

How's the slimming world going? I have just started as well, so far so good for me.

I think my whole palate changed! I used to love very unhealthy food and drink larger and rose but now love lots of fresh fruits, veggies and could be a veggie rarely drinking at all!

I've never been a fan of sweet foods and the only chocolate I've ever liked is the odd chocolate bar but when pregnant, I loved anything sweet! Chocolate everything and sugar on everything. I once got told off by the midwife. My appointment was with her at 10am and by then had already had a bowl of rice krispies with 3 tbs of sugar on, a lion bar, a twix and a magnum! I left there and had another 2 lion bars and magnum!

Since having my daughter i still like the odd choc bar but dont touch sugar, choc milkshake, icecream or cake in any shape or form! Yuk!
