Hi everyone!

I'm an American that usually rides in French saddles who has now found herself with a youngster that is VERY straight-backed and won't come anywhere close to fitting in my curvier French trees. For a straighter fit and wool-flocking, I now find myself turning to UK brands. Of course, I also have ZERO saddle dealers anywhere near me, nor am I having much luck finding what I'm looking for in American shops. I bought my last saddle from the UK (by pure chance thanks to a facebook post) and it went really well, so I figured I'd try my luck again. This time though, I'm not quite sure where to start looking. I've spent hours googling and searching through the facebook groups I could find by putting in "UK saddles", but I'm sure I'm missing the best and busiest places and sites.

Can you point me toward your favorite websites or facebook groups for finding second hand saddles? Bonus points if they have a good selection of monoflap jump saddles under the 1500 price point!

UK Saddles (Adam Ellis Saddles) is actually a saddle manufacturer based in Walsall.

It might be better if you search 'second hand English Saddles for sale' instead. There are a number of companies who sell second hand saddles - I do know that Sheepham Saddles hold quite a lot of stock, so it might be worth looking at their website to see if they have anything suitable.

Good luck with your search! :)

Hi I recently sold a saddle to the US. I had advertised it on Facebook in a group called "thorowgood saddles for sale and wanted". Postage was fairly pricey (about £80 fully tracked and insured), but the buyer was happy. There are various groups - "saddles for sale and wanted" and "ideal saddles for sale" which you could try posting a wanted ad on!!

Here are few recommandations if you want to buy a saddle directly from France and are confident you can communicate in French with the seller.
To source a saddle in France I would personnaly go to the saddle brand website. Most of them have a second hand section (Devoucoux, Butet, Childeric, CWD, Forestier, Antarès...).
You can also search on general classifieds website such as Leboncoin.com (saddle is selle in French). Add the brand you are looking for and plenty of results will come up.
Last but not least, there are some websites such as Equirodi.com dedicated to equestrian classifieds. You will find thousands of used saddles of top brands. The keyword for second hand saddle for sale in French is "selles d'occasion à vendre". On this website, you can buy it directly online like you would do on eBay.
I really hope this help.

Welcome to the board, this is a really old thread, the OP had used French saddles in the past but is specifically looking for English saddles in flatter trees, and is located in the US.
