Sure this has been done before but last night I was reviewing my old dressage test sheets and ended up laughing.. a lot.. at some of the comments, was interested to know what other people have had..

My favourites I have had include:

- Well sat! Thought you were a goner then!
- Rider working FAR TOO HARD!
- Impressive bucking but no canter shown - shame!
- Facing wrong way..
- I couldn't have sat that...
- Thought you were going to enter judges box, well stopped!

I am guessing the judges in my area have a sense of humour :)

The first and only dressage test i have done with my boy had some funny ones on!

- Nice half pass shame its not needed in a prelim test
- Horse may me more suited to jumping (he left the area over the wight boards a lot...very very exciting for him)
-Nice canter, shame you couldnt stop it, but nicely ridden

ect
We all had a good laugh about that back at the yard

'Slight loss of attention' = We were broncing laps round the arena everytime we went past the judges car.

'Lovely half pass, though not required' - In the same test as above, but the tinsel which was hung up down one side was FAR too scary and kept half passing away from it each time.

'Good impulsion, though slight lack of control' - Our first canter circle....flat out bolting with neck set.

Hmm.

Not my best test! Who said cobs were boring.....LOL.

"left arena"

"not NOT a simple change of leg"

"disobedience at C" [and m,b,f,a,k,e,h]

"hesitation at x" [pony had stopped for a pee!]

"pony above the bridle" [do you really think when this dressage test is ridden at 100mph being above the bridle is my biggest concern?!]

"all rather rushed & hurried" [recommended test time 5.5minutes, my time <3 minutes]

"well done the fastest test of the day, dressage is NOT against the clock"

"pony finds the dressage arena a strange & scary place"

"rider not really in control"

"rider rather nervous" [well wouldnt you be if dressage tests resulted in the above comments]

Lovely horse but so not in the dressage mood today. Nice relaxed rider did well to keep a lid on it!!

Super test, such a shame about the capriolle at H

Accurate but a little over exuberant

Exploded into canter

and on a friends

Rider induced wobble on C/L

This last one had us in absolute stitches :D

Lovely pony.Needs to curb his enthusiasm somewhat in canter (hurled down the long side fly bucking):D

Sympathetically ridden (Welsh cob saluted judge with both ffront feet on halt at start of test. I walloped her, yelled and rode the rest of the test VERY forcefully!)

and finally.... judge at end of a recent test opened her door, laughed loudly and said "quite a lot of unnecessary tarting about there - well sat!" Youngter had just offered flying changes and bucking in a prelim test:o

Several of the above but one of my favouries has to be

'Rather explosive entry!'

My mare spooked just as I turned to make my entry and shot off into canter straight down the centre line! Had no choice but to carry on riding the test - trying not to collapse with fits of giggles :D:D

"Quietly ridden, except for 1/2 circle at end" (where my caller had got confused and lost her place at a crucial moment, mumbled something, and I turned around and yelled WHAT?! V loudly :D)

"Bit tense through transition" (you mean the one where we got the wrong leg and had to rapidly do another transition in the same corner and he bucked second time??)

"Quietly ridden, I can see this horse is not a straightforward ride" (V windy day and this horse did not mix well)

' a most entertaining test'

'language!'

'test rather done on the horses terms, well tried'

'what a stunt that last canter was, try to contain forwardness'

Morale never do dressage with an advanced endurance race horse....

I have only done two dressage on tests on Zoom and the comment at the bottom of the first simply read:

'What a shame this horse has one eye, she cannot keep her head straight'

"I think this chap would rather be hunting"
(she was a mare but hey ho, she had covered the long side with 4 enormous flying bucks)

"A little tense at times"
So that would be when she stood on her back legs & waved the front 2 at the judge then!

"Tactfully ridden"
When the mare was in season, screaming her head off to all & sundry & i had lost in front of the judges box & yelled "Will you bl88dy shut up!" at her.

I need to dig up my old dressage sheets from my PC eventing days! I had a fab little pony, 12.2 ex pit pony, built like a tank and LOVED his jumping. I was very cruel and made him do the dressage before i would allow him to do the SJ and XC - how mean is that!! He had the strangest way of going, would set his neck in full on rolkur position even on a loose rein, chin touching his chest :D And would go around with his lips curled up and teeth bared!! Often got comments about nice movements, well ridden, lovely paces etc etc but "shame pony looked so indimidating" :D EVERY test sheet had a comment about his teeth on it lol He was fab. RIP little man!

Ok not my favourite comment but probably my most upsetting coment.

It was my first ever dressage test on a tense horse and the comment at the botton read - :

"Lovely Lovely horse, but you have ruined his test my making him run through it all and not allowing him to produce his own work"

I was completely devastated and didnt competed again for about 6 months. I am sure there was a better way to put that.

I can laugh about it now but it really affected me.

QR
Dex had been brewing trouble and my walk to trot transition ended up with the comment:

"Pity...Exploded"

Suppose i should be grateful she didnt mention the worlds loudest fart that accompanied the buck/launch :o

:D

I love writing for dressage judges. I was bored one day as it was all same comments and said can't we have an explosion. Next one in had bucking fit and she said 'ah there you are my dear you may write a small explosion near x. One came charging towards us another time and was inches away from landing on the bonnet of the car 'halt not quite on x but straight'
-

My eventer called Clockwork Orange:

"Youre horse does everything it says on the tin-goes like clockwork and is ORANGE " :)

Someone once had
"Try Tennis" lol

This was in an eventing test and said mare was lit up like a christmas tree. She would overbend terribly and look like she was about to explode..

"tactfully ridden, mare clearly looking forward to the jumping"

Hehe, not mine but a friend got:
"Well ridden for a youngster"
(Horse was 17 or so but rather fresh)

My favorite was actualy in training I was on a mare who was known to take half a long side to stop and was working really hard on getting her soft and flexed instead of arched and set so I didn't want to keep pulling to slow. I taught her woah on voice over the previous week (ranging from WOAH meaning STOP and woooaaaah to drop one pace while eeeaaassyyy was a half halt) She had driven in the past so after a refresher was pretty hot on the voice commands.

I was a little nervous though and in the practice test overdid the woah when asking for trot at B and got an instant Canter to HALT transition. Sat it but the instructor (who knew the mare well) stood there with his jaw on the floor for a moment the commented "You have the breaks down then".

"Multiple issues"

(horse bunny hopped backwards down the centreline at speed when the breeze puffed out the sides of the marquee behind the judges box)

switch the horse those made me have coffee coming out of my nose!

How brilliant. i think the best one i had was

What a shame, 'have fun XC'

you know you are beyond help when they say that.

some of these are hilarious!

My best comment was :

'Quality Cheshire Hunter type but a bit full of beans today'

He had just started broking in the middle of the test, stood on the white markers and threw me off in the middle of the arena! We're defintely better suited to jumping! :)

"Rolled" was the comment I got for halt/salute at X in a test I did on my coloured pony last year! Fair enough, as that's what she did!

Then on the general comments I got "a very spectacular halt"

Will never forget that day - luckily it was all caught on video too
