What are your favourite stallions aged 20+ who still stand for stud? The truly resilient ones, who have proven that they could stay sound and injury free over a long ridden career?

SJ?

Eventing?

Dressage?

Pony?

There's quite a few I'm fond of so I'll just list out my favourite Irish stallions for showjumping: Puissance, Errigal Flight, Laughtons Flight, Clover Brigade, Clover Flush, Clover Echo, Coevers Diamond Boy.

Honourable mention to the greatest horse to ever set hoof on this planet. The greatest stallion to ever stand at stud of any breed, for any discipline, in any country.
The Absolute, Very Best Of All Time, The Great Cruising!

Still alive but not covering anymore due to a heart attack in 2007. The whole reason I'm involved with horses

Well hard to beat for his age would be our old boy Hendrewen Deryn, Sec D . He is 30 , still has a fantastic canter, as light as a feather, has produced excellent performance stock and himself excelled as a performance animal , at all disciplines.

Kensons ArargonRID is also with us and is a mere spring chicken in comparison at 22 yrs but someone needs to tell him as he's certainly feeling well at the moment and is eager for his first mare!

the thread didnt say whether they have to be dead or alive...lol (Showjumping Darco) deceased but IMO one of the greatest!

As the OP said still standing at stud I am presuming alive LOL!!

JUMBO - 24 or 25 I think! The leading living event sire in the world with an endless stream of advanced horses and lots more coming through! Oh and 7 graded stallion sons!

OMG is he really that old, jes do I feel old now. Well I would have him on the list & yes he does have a fantastic temperment. Though he is not in the elite list as there are stallions with more progeny at higher level I would put Coolcorron Cool Diamond on the list as well. Just because he has offspring eventing & SJ'g & also has a wonderful temperment.

Coolcorron Cool Diamond ... What a horse!!! Irish National Champion in 2007 at 18 years of age. Didn't touch a pole over the course of the 3 days. Hell he jumped at the 2009 Nationals. Unfortunately, not his best performance but what a statement about his soundness and longetivity!
