As its winter and we have been luging the things around for months what are your favourite features of your rugs.

Mine are from my weatherbeeta freestyle, I love the shoulder darts as they dont rub and the new snug hood to stop the wing blowing down their necks

So what are your favourites and why?

The 'tri-vent' feature on my youngsters Masta. Fantastic for freedom of movement. To be fair, its not the best fit for him but it does the job,

and the shoulder vents make it v comfy for him. I need to find him something a bit more robust for next winter, a bit better suited to his shape, and must allow a good hooley like this one does :p

Definitely front clips instead of buckles and fillet strings rather than leg straps - when you've got a yard of 25 horses to do rug changes on twice a day the little things like this really make a difference!

Weatherbeeta rugs are my favourite.

I luuurve the front 'click and go' fastening on my Bucas rugs - so easy to sort and the front of the rug stays fastened snugly without any gaps.

I like the elasticated top to the neck on my PE turnouts. I also like the attachments for liners.

I like clip fronts for ease but only if there is some adjustment.

I like the rug to be deep and if it is a turnout to have a good tail flap.

I also like my amigo insulator, because it is lightweight, and easy to handle, it also doesn't get shavings/haylage stuck to it as it is a shiny fabric rather than fleecy or cotton based.

I like filet strings not leg straps too.

Can I just change this and say a massive hate? I hate hate hate the front attachment on my Bucas stable rug. Its massively fiddley, (not great on a young horse) and takes me just as long to do up the front as it does to put on and do up the rest of the rug!

trigger clips, who does use buckles any more? Too much hassle.

removable leg straps, i hate leg straps and would rather make into a fillet string.

elastic around the ears to keep it snug

Which sort is it? I don't like the front attachment on my amigo, it has the ones you normally get on the cross surcingles on the front, so no adjustment, fiddly and easy to get caught. I much prefer my PE that has trigger clips, with adjustment. I don't like the front fastener on Rhinos either, no adjustment.

I don't really mind buckles, but prefer a clip.

Love the liner system on PE rugs- get so much more wear out of each rug & can unclip liners so can put on lightweight liner followed my middle weight rug over my ginger giant rather than trying to throw up to 450g rug over her!
Also the elasticated necks to stop wind and rain getting down :)

Funny two mentions on the Bucas front clip- One loving and one hating! Personally im ok with them but my daughter just refuses to even try and do them up anymore ??

I love the weatherbeeta new hoods aswell (not got one yet but will ;D)
I also love the front closure of Rhino/Rambo rugs- so much easier and quicker then two buckles.

I have to say I am really really impressed with and in love with Kadance (Countrywides own) turn out and stable rugs- Not the cheaper ones but the more expensive range. My first thought was how expensive they were for a "own brand" but wow amazing rugs with lovely features. Definitely to be my next purchase after a horse at work being kitted out with them.

Love the caldene rug - click together (pushed in like a seat belt) and 2 little finger bits you can undo one handed. The surcingles have a connector to keep them hanging lower than the other and so much easier to do up, grab one and they both come up. Neck is velcro hidden zips and so easy to put on :) now wish I didnt need to cover them in paint and cable tie them on haha - wish I could afford another! ♥

Totally agree with this! Doing comp horses you are constantly switching horses round and that means rugs here, left and everywhere! Hate legs straps-far too fiddly and time consuming esp when said horse has possibly got 2-3 rugs on, love Horseware rugs with their front fastenings-very quick and easy to use and don't become heavy in the wet like the premier equine ones do.

Snap, will cut leg straps off if they are not removable
