Who casually stalk sites like Horsequest and moon after horses by a particular sire?

If we had money and Al had more time, we would have another Alflora horse. Reg has completely sucked us in- he's the spit of Alflora, and his 'quirks' (common ones it seems for Alflora babies) seem very in line with everything said, and are part of why he's so cool. There's currently a little mare by Alflora on Horsequest for £1.8k and the amount I want her for Al is silly...

So do you have any particular 'favourites'? Or any non-runners?

Well, anything by Samber, or more precisely Hercorose will always get attention from us. Seeing as we own a daughter of Hercorose, whose father was Samber you can see why. We know of at least one Hercorse son competing at 3* level and although he's not coloured, he has all the same qualities as our mare (we know his owner and rider), which are mainly lovely movers, brave xc, very, very greedy and also very cuddly, if a bit feisty as well.

I have to say I also love Armour G, whose owner is on here. He looks totally gorgeous and if our mare had not come sound last year, we would have bred from her and he was her husband of choice. Oddly enough he is a coloured, from Samber lines ..... odd that.

I'm a big fan of Jumbo horses, and Captain Clover horses! (Or maybe I should just go with 16hh grey Irish horses. They do seem to have the most amazing temperament.)
That said I do like Landos as well...

Well, I love Mally and my friends horse Jaffa, who both have Clover Hill as a Grandsire and are the spit of each other in everyway. However I know a few more that are very different, so I would be wary of loving a horse just because it was Clover Hill lines. Although I do pay special attention to them!

D_K horse of a life time (Sir) was by Criminal Law, our TB mare B was born on the same day as Sir, 1st April 96, Sir in Leicestershire, B in Kentucky, it was a complete fluke that we found B. We did try to put her in foal to Crim, but it was the last year that he stood at stud and she didn't take. I still dream of a Crim related foal by her, she did have 2 lovely foals by Rainbow High, and would love to put her Western Justice and have D_K's next horse in the pipe line. Unless we have a big lottery win its not going to happen, but a girl has to have her dreams:)

We do look out for horses for sale with Criminal Law in there blood line, again I am dreaming but you never know one day dreams may come true.

Cavalier Royale! Have had three, ones a stallion so have some second generations on the way :) Also have two from Cavalier mares. They are all a little spooky, can be a little quirky but are generally straightforward and they can all move and jump! Heart of a lion, scope to burn and honest. Spook at a bag in the hedge but would jump a car if you asked them too :)

I would really love a Cevin Z youngster. Have been banned from having any more though :-(

That's a shame, I have a nice one here................

Not come across one, but I would love a descendent of Crown Extravagant, as I had the ride when he came to Talland as a just backed 4 yr old. Loved him to bits, and he was the first real quality horse that I was responsible for schooling. I also love Jumbo's - again, knew and worked with him, so his offspring hold a special place in my heart. Finally, I'm a big fan of Ramiro's, as my first "horse of a lifetime" was from that line.

The is an Alfora filly at the racing yard where my hubby works...

she (Flo) isnt for sale.....

and a gelding Big George he is nearly 18hh now HUGE but the loveliest temprament EVER

He isnt for sale either and will have a home for life with his owner who takes them home after their career, really lovely owners/people :D

I also keep an eye out for Clover Hill lines. I've always liked them, didn't like madam much at first site but in sure I paid more attention to her because I like the bloodlines....
I also like Balou de rout offspring...and a lot of "traditional" Irish bloodlines! I would probably think hard before looking at a cruising horse, as I've yet to find one Id want to own, although I've admired plenty from afar!

Funny enough this is also my current 'wish list'! Again, currently have too many to actually look into this seriously (unless anyone wants to give me one! :D )

I have worked with so many horses of so many different bloodlines that there aren't many that I would discard based on parentage. For showing though I wouldn't touch a horse by Perpendicular as they are never very well conformationed.

If I could have any then I would have a Sadlers Wells just because and I would love a Galileo.

The one Alflora horse I have come across was one of my favourites. Go anywhere, do anything. I took him hunting, used him as a nanny to babies on the gallops, worked him up with the best and the worst and he would jump everything you pointed him at.

My little TB is by Bob Back - she has such a lovely temperament and movement that I think I'd be tempted if I saw another for sale, but I have enough horses for now :o

I'd also like to put her in foal to Kilvington Scoundrel and Templebready Fear Bui when I'm ready for my next generation of youngsters. I think I need a lottery win

I have 2 TB geldings both with the same grandsire - Indian Ridge - they both have the same 'can do, will do' attitude about things and are real people horses that are more riding horse than racehorse. From what I've read this is quite common in this line and it's something I'd go looking for now if I was horse shopping.

I have a gelding by Stanhopes Diddicoy and I would definitely have another one, not because I'd want a coloured horse either. My horse isn't the bravest, but he moves beautifully and has a wonderfully trainable temperament; he's very affectionate as well. If I had a really lovely TB mare I wanted to breed from I would definitely think of putting her with SD.

Ok, this is strictly for Arab fans only.

If I was ever looking for another Arab, I'd have to say Prince of Orange lines. Truly lovely, kind natured old horse, passed away some time ago. Rode an amazing, one in a million mare by him, she seemed like more of a welshie than your 'typical' Arab, and Coombe Farm had one or two others like her by the same sire. Totally non-spooky, jump anything, take her anywhere type, loved water, won SJ, amazing to take mock hunting...

Yes, I am talking about an Arab.

These lines are probably quite dilute by now, and hard to find, as they are very unfashionable these days. But in my view there's a lot to be said for the Crabbett/old English lines.

My current fad is for finding horses with no recorded breeding at all! Goodness knows where my current two came from, other than a bog in Ireland!

Alwaysbroke, the coloured in my sig is by Criminal Law, the year after I bought her I got offered her full sister, but at the time wasn't looking for another, in hindsight if I had known what Millie was going to turn out like I would have snapped her sister up in a flash, love her to bits.....

Scarlett the chestnut in my sig has Indian Ridge as grandsire and yes she has the same attitude.......... she also looks more like her grandsire in her face than her sire (Flying Spur).

Cavalier Royale, but I think it is hard as they are getting more diluted by time.

Fingers crossed we will have 2 Cavalier babies by June.
I also have a two year old Colt (well just gelded) by Chippisson out of a Cruising mare. A complete dope on a rope. Unbelievable temperament.

Otherwise nothing in particular as to be honest they are all different to a point irrespective of the sire. Although I would love a Legrande.
