Hi,

I'm hopeing the great H&H tack experts on here can help me not make another terrible tacking mistake.

I have a very sensitive SFx mare with a very forward girth groove. I have been looking at the Frank Baines Girth on ebay for the last few weeks, despite the hefty price I am tempted. The thing thing is, she seems to like a sheepskin sleeve and although you can get a FBs girth in a different shape with sheepskin, you can't one for the anatomical.

The Professional Choice girth has been recomended to me too, so I'm in a quandry. To many girths already in our girth box that are usless and I dread making such an expensive mistake.

We only hack out really, with just the occational schooling, but she used to be a great SJ in her past life and we might trying XC next year with her.

So any past experiences of this girth would be appreciated. Thanks:D

Can't comment on the FB girth as never used one but I do use the PC ones and I really rate them, even on my sensitive tum gastric ulcer boy. If you do a search on here there have been many posts about the PC girths - may help.

I'm another one who has a box full of girths. I've got two horses - a very sensitive TB who is fussy about everything and the only girth that suits him is a very soft, expensive leather one. My Irish Draught who has a very forward girth groove got very girthy when I bought a HM saddle and was recommended to use a Professional Choice girth with it. It also rubbed him so when I got rid of the saddle I got rid of that too. After many saddles and various girths I had the most success with the Stubben string girth but my saddler recommended an anatomical girth so I bought a Frank Baines anatomical girth. Lovely leather but I'm not convinced of the benefits of having an anatomical girth over the string girth.
