Hi all.

Just wondering what service you'd be more likely to use for either yoyrself or your busines(if you have one).

These are all businesses id love to do but just doing some research to see what most people would want!

1) leaflet/poster/business cards etc designing

2) dog grooming

3) dog walking/sitting

4) horse groom/sitting/care

5) promotions for your business-ie. Girls dressed up,handing out leaflets, photos

There are a lot more dogs around than horses. But you could do both.

I use a freelance groom, if I have to be away for a day, or weekend, etc. If longer than 3-4 days I would put in livery, but I know she used to look after horses when owners were away skiing for instance. VERY reliable. She also does clipping and will plait. She used to help break and school but now only rides ones she knows well. But it does mean working at the weekend.

Dog walking/dog sitting - quite a few people do this so there is obviously a demand.

I could do both happily as iv had horses for years and i work in a kennels so used to dogs/cats..

However i see a lot of these businesses so wondered if thered be enough customers for me to create a customer base?

Anyone think i could make designing leaflets/businesd cards/posters a business?

Designing promo stuff has all but been taken over by the likes of Vistaprint, as Martlin said...and of course desktop publishing packages..which means most folks do it themselves unless they are high end and have big budgets. I know, it was a large part of my business until Microsoft Publisher became widely used :)

Good luck in whatever you decide.

Very difficult, you have to be clear about your Unique Personal Attributes, for example are you the enthusiastic type of person with loads of friends and family who would buy into Avon. This widens your opportunities in marketing type work.
There are caring type jobs if you want regular work, this can provide a nice bit of cash on a weekly basis.
There are "Pink Ladies" who do dusting and cleaning, also works best in a big city.
I am someone who likes to work hard, but I also like to be paid more than the minimum wage so if it was dog walking, I would have to be in a city with loads of pampered pets, I would pick them up, pop in a van [with cages] and take them to a wasteland, for a long run, by having four dogs at a time I would increase my income and this would be needed to cover for insurance, vehicle, and my time. It depends on lots of customers close together. This type of work can't be expanded much, unless you also do dog trimming and such like so that customers will come to you.
If you like selling and have some unique expertise you can work with this, a lady in Scotland sells underwear, and has done very well, in a market already saturated with well known firms, she identified a market and went for it, she was also willing to put her house on the line, so probably more commitment than most!
Some folks on here do decorative brow-bands etcetera, but again the market will be limited, it depends low postage costs relative to the articles, but they will not be regular customers so you need to be constantly finding new ways of marketing.
