feather and dry skin help!

So my new horse is a traditional. She has obviously got a lot of feather but when I bought her they had all be trimmed off . She's hogged as well . Anyways today I've been having a good check over on her , and the skin where her feathers would be is very very dry and flaky . As well as the skin in her hogged mane. Does anyone know a good shampoo I can use to get rid of the flakes and help moisturerise the dry skin . Can't be very nice for her . Thanks

I use Selsun, but don't leave on too long as turns legs yellow (if her legs are white) Muddy Marvel Descab works well too She then has moisturiser made from lanolin, shea butter and glycerine applied 2 times a week.

You could try adding micronised linseed to her feed too, improved my horses coat and hooves no end

This, they are what you feed them, add veg oil and micronised linseed, this helps skin, feet and general condition, as a temporary measure, rub in an aques cream, which acts as a barrier to mud etc
