It's that time of year again and the hairy one is really starting to suffer with feather mites. I have been told that you can use Front Line on the feathers to get rid of them and give the poor boy some relief. I was wondering if anyone had experience of this?
I am assuming you just use a few drops of the normal cat/dog stuff that you get in pipettes? Or is there another version of the product that I don't know about? And is it just a couple of drops at the top of the feather on each leg that sorts it?
Would be keen to hear of people's experiences in trying this. Just for the record, I can't use Pig oil and sulphur as his field mate is allergic. I have tried the injection from the vet (the one licenced for cattle) but I've moved since then and the new vet won't do it (not really a horsey vet). Insecticial shampoo works for about a day, same with flea powder! Feel like I am running out of options and i'm NOT clipping them off!
Thanks!
