Feathers , no feathers? plait, no plait? black jacket, tweed?

So got a little 14.2 cob. Ive never owned a cob and my other horse is a sports horse so not the same at all.
For dressage ( intro /prelim) do i :
plait?
take feathers off?
wear black jacket or tweed?

Tweed jacket Feathers to stay and mane nicely brushed or a running plait You could take the feathers off and pull/hog the mane but that's a bit drastic if you're not sure you want to!
