i first bought some dublin river boots in may... they started leaking pretty much straight away so i went bk to retailer and got a new pair free of charge.. i wore my old ones till the wet weather started and finally got my new ones out a couple of months ago.. now these have done exactly the same thing they have wrinkled down almost straight away.. the back of the heels caved in and they leak.. am i entitled to take them back?

As long as they keep leaking, keep taking them back and getting a new pair!

but buy a pair of Malham boots by Ryedale Clothing (Yorkshire Clothing Co) for riding and mucking out, they won't let you down.

I know the lady in the tack shop very well and i don't want her to be p**sed off but im fed up of wet socks and i think that for the price these boots shouldnt really leak

Sadly I have a pair of Malhams and under the extreme muddy conditions we have suffered from recently they have started to leak a wee bit at the back

Think wellies are the only option in dire weather!

My Malhams are four months old and have now started leaking quite significantly, I was actually going to get a pair of Dublin River Boots but may be I won't now!

OP are your leaky ones the old style, or are they the new style with the strip of leather up the front? As I understand it the new style are a lot better, but would be interested to know what sort you have had problems with.

The heels cave in the linings ripped on both boots within weeks of wear and they leak throught the sides im so not impressed wish id just forked out for Dubarrys now

I have to say my Dubarrys lasted about a year. I didnt think this was too bad as I trash my boots, but for a normal person if they only lasted a year its a lot of money to spend on them.

The dublins I had were shocking!

I would take them back to the shop I'm sure they wont mind. No point having boots you cant wear.

yep my rivers have been fab for summer hacking - but the backs have gone recently and leak - always get wet toes. Had them 5 months and defo dont wear them every day. when i get paid will purchase some different boots for walking round the yard

A product is expected to last a 'reasonable' length of time - it's a bit how long is a piece of string but I would think £100 boots should last longer than yours have. The retailer will probably want to send them back to the manufacturer for them to decide what to do - I doubt the retailer will give you a refund/exchange.

My Dublin Rivers have been brilliant BUT I am very careful not to let them come into contact with a mucky stable (horse pee will rot leather), or too much mud. I just ride in them and clean and wax them fairly regularly. They do need looking after.

I must be pretty lucky then as I have had my Dublin Rivers for over a year and they have been great. Mucked out in them, ridden in them and general abuse of them and they are still intact and waterproof.

Although have heard so many poor reviews of them recently I will probably change to the Tuffa Suffolk when these break. (Hopefully not in the depths of winter!)

I would take them back. The design was inadequate for what they are marketed as, proved by the fact that the new version of them has addressed the heel issue apparently.

i have bought a pair of these, first time i tried them on the lining came away , so the shop ordered me another pair even though i said i wanted my money back, this pair i have had for a few weeks no problems yet , but i have kept the box and as soon as they do any of the things i have read they will be going back and a full refund will be wanted and i wont move until i get it x id take them back and as for another boot, not the dublin river boots x
