6/7 weeks ago horse wasn't lame but not quite right. Farrier came out and said soles were soft so he popped some pads on the front. Problem solved. Horse has been great until yesterday when he had a load of mud under one of the pads. Farrier came straight out and sorted it but it's made him slightly sore again. So fed up of this mud. I don't know what to do for the best. Turn out but its getting really sticky now, though next week it's supposed to rain all week, or keep him in with gentle walking out twice a day until the field dries up .

I used pads on my horse many years ago and although it helped initially the frog ended up very smelly so I stopped using them and just kept to the grass tracks

They are just to protect his feet from the wet. They are coming off as soon as it dries up. Just so frustrating trying to do the right thing by turning out bit it's not helping!!
