Fed up of missing troll post.

As a relatively new member of HHO i keep hearing reference to what would appear to be amazing troll posts, is there a place to find them or could you post links as some sound like a very good read.
 
Thats because they usually get removed.

There have been many, I usually miss them until just before they get removed. Some are just wind up merchants posting something which they know will annoy or upset members on here. Some are more sinister.

One I did get involved in was someone called Jamie&Dexter. It was a post saying 40 horses were on land in Wales and they needed rescuing one night. It was a genuine situation about Fly Grazing and some of them had died, and reported in the press.

Jamie offered some land and a wagon and to move them to a bit of land he had. He took most people on here in, they thought he was great. Some lady even sent the link to the thread to the Welsh Assembly. One of two of us tried to point out that he did not have the resources to care for them. It turned into about 50 pages with him getting more and more upset. The horses then disappeared (owner took them) overnight. It turned out Jamie&Dexter was just after some free horses. It also came out that he might have been a she and had been a member on here under other names. I cant remember what he / she had done but I think it had something to do with obtaining horses using similar tactics.
 
I'd say that's not so much trolling as trying to obtain goods through deception. An important reminder that not everyone is entirely honest on a forum.

there have been some excellent ones, where the troll post was just so completely obvious and the troll got stoned from a great height - HHO members at their very best !
 
One of my favourites was jazzaria, who used to tie her legs to her horses girth when jumping.
There was also dunroamin who faked a bad RTA and had a lot of hhoers going. The best thing to look out for is a relatively normal but slightly controversial thread title. Read between the lines in the first post and sit back and watch CSI:HHO get on it!!!
 
Wasn't there one quite recently from a girl who was having a baby prematurely (or was it more than one) and made some very odd statements and was found to be a troll? Might have been in soapbox.

It was triplets and the post is still there, ask JHoward because I can't remember the name of the thread.

**Be Warned** it is a HUGE thread, but the trolling was fairly early on.
 
The 'triplet saga' is on the 'Truth or Dare' thread in SB, somehow it is still about.

There are a few serial trollers on here, some have gone through 20+ different usernames. You can usually spot them a mile off though!

I think a few people are remembering the J&D story a bit wrong though, or never found out the full story. He still posts, and is not a troll IMO.

Don't worry OP, the longer you spend on here the quicker you will be to spot a troll post. One clue; look at the number of replies an innocuously titled thread has, the ones that run to 100+ replies are quite often troll posts. :D

The definition of what is a troll seems to be different for different people; I don't automatically class someone who has been banned coming back with a new username as a troll; it depends on what they are posting... :)

No, not under the name J&D. I didn't miss the posts either, but I do understand why they were posted ;) A very good way of having a thread deleted is to pretend you are a much hated banned member...

I think I know who you mean. I did wonder a few times, but assumed the HHO troll busters would have outed him :D :D
 
Trolls...mmmm


Did I tell you that I chopped my horses leg off today. It was annoying me. The 5th leg. Anyway, he is coping fine with 4. He is a bit lame and the chopped off bit is bleeding a bit, well a lot. But my favourite colour is red and he is brown so it suits him.

Did I do the right thing?
 
For god sake, stamps feet, I try to be a troll, stamps feet a bit more, and nobody cares.....throws self on floor in big tantrum........I was being serious, throws toys out of pram, stomp, stomp, stomp.....

But we already know you're a troll so it won't work :p You're a pet troll, a bit like Shils but not so scaly. You need to sign up with a different username to troll properly now, preferably one with lots of x's and numbers in your name, and then post in capitals and use excessive exclamation marks and things. You're also a tad too literate to be an HHO troll, sorry :(

I am also the inventor of barb wire bits, a hugely successful gadget in my cruelty to horses circle of friends.

Where is shils, she would understand.

Rhino, Pet troll? I at least thought I was a pet who had been sent to the dog home for weeing in the house troll?
 
I'm sure the kitten deserved it :D does that mean you or one of your similarly evil friends could source me the 'i heart rolkur' t-shirt I've been looking all over for...?
 
You would do better explaining how your French rescue horse has colic and you have decided not to call the vet. Your barefoot trimmer can do the same job at half the cost.

Is somebody selling them? I bloody copyrighted them!!!!! What colour would you like. I have an evil friend called 'evil' who is an AI in rolkur. Would you like her number. Bear in mind AI stands for 'an inventorofrolkur'
