People really do just take the piss don't they!

Firstly, despite me specifying in the advert that I want Bonnie to remain local, I've had phonecalls from Scotland, Lincolnshire and Staffordshire... and then they get grumpy at me for politely explaining I want her to remain close to home.

I also had some woman ring me up basically wanting some pity. She explained she'd just been conned when buying a horse advertised on the site mine was advertised on and asked if I knew how to contact the people who run the site. Then waffled on for a while about how she'd spent her life savings etc etc... which is all very well and good, but she wasn't even interested in Bonnie?!

Now, I've got someone coming to see her tomorrow. She spoke to me earlier asking to come tomorrow, then an hour ago asked if it would be possible to come on Friday instead, as she "feels ill and needs to rest". I explained that I'm at work, and she then huffily said "Oh it'll have to be tomorrow at 7 then!". I then expressed a concern that she would not have a chance to ride as it would be dark and my only access to a bridleway is down a fairly dangerous road, and I'm not permitted to ride in my field. She's then told me she can't come earlier as she's seeing another horse. Oh, so you're not so ill then, are you!

So now I've got her coming to see Bonnie at 7... for a fairly pointless visit, which won't involve her 'trying' her at all, and will upset Bonnie's routine and probably cause her to be irritated because she just wants to be playing with her feed ball rather than being made to stand with some strange person looking at her.

At this rate, I just won't go to uni and stay at home with my lovely horse forever!

Sorry for the rant, just getting weary of this whole process! xxx

Just stick to your guns, someone will want to loan her soon, it drives me mad when I sell ponies as everyone takes up your time on the phone waffling on for hours then doesn't turn up to see pony... Sorry am ranting too but it does make me mad

It's just all compounded by the fact I have such a short time to find somebody for her. I can't afford to be picky, but I need to be picky because this horse is like my child. At this rate I'll just be paying for full livery for her, and starving at uni! :)

Where are you and how local do you want her to stay? Could you try advertising to loan her locally to your uni if it is somewhere different. May get more replies then, what is bonnie? Cob, TB etc and what does she do? Hope you find someone soon. :)

I'm in Hertfordshire and I'm going to uni in London, but I'm planning to be home most weekends for work (pub pay is very good!) so wanted her to stay close to home. I had somebody all ready to loan her who wanted to keep her where she is now, but she had a change in circumstances and is no longer able to have her. I just really don't want her going far so she can be checked up on by me or my family regularly... you just hear too many horror stories of horses going off on loan and coming back in a state.

She's a Welsh D cross with some TB in her somewhere, she's just been a hacker for the past year since she had steroid injections in her hocks. Vet has said she could return to full work, it's just a matter of finding somebody willing to build up her workload gradually, and who is even willing to take on a horse with this horrible winter coming up! :)

I just don't know where else to advertise, or what else to do! All I can do is hope that this'll all somehow fall into place.

Hi have never loaned a horse but would have to say after reading your post when selling my last horse who was an angel your gut instinct is always right if you are having doubts, dont do it save your time for viewers you feel are suitable.

It is stressful enough without putting you and your horse through all that i know its tempting but the right person will come along so save yourself the heartache and wait for a sensible person to view you cant rush it and it will happen.
Good luck and remember your horse wil be as special to someone else as it is to you and the perfect person will come along in the end.:)
