My pony is sick - nothing serious he's got a snotty nose and a bit of a temp - vet says he'll be fine in a few days but I was really looking forward to this weekend I had a competition tomorrow and a long off road ride with a friend planned for Monday - now I'm effectively horseless for the weekend. I'm very much aware that are ppl worse off than 'poor ole me' but I'm still disproportionately sad about it all.

Ho him

Sadly 'that's horses'....

I have 2 who are fighting fit, but can't do anything over the BH as have to work, so feel your frustration!

Hope your horse recovers soon x

I go to uni in 3 weeks and my boy has just had a lavage system put In his eye (for the second time this year) meaning no riding for atleast 10 days.

There goes my plans to have fun and spend time riding him in my final weeks at home.

hey ho... run a few years by ... you will be wondering why you let the grass grow under your feet. It sucks when younhave to stand back cos pony is sick ,but youinwoldnt gain any satisfaction on winning at a sick ponys expense. I have turned round and stuck a horse back in his stable just before going hunting , far too many times , (I am ancient ..57..)If they arnt right they stay home. Make the most of the good times but know when to say , poor poor pony, have the day off. You might be a bit pissed off at the time ,but ultimately you will always be aware that you did the right thing by your nag.
