after finding my mare in the field hardly putting weight on her hind leg vet came out told me it was a sprain therefore kept her in for a week and a half and the first day of being out, she been kicked again. luckily she isnty lame but her leg is swollen!

not sure if its best to keep bandages on or off as ive been told keeping them on may make her legs weaker although i thought it would support her? and help swelling go down? can anyone help?

Should be fine to bandage her if she needs support, cold hose it twice / three times a day if you can to try and reduce swelling that way too.

Oh dear - poor pony.

Putting the bandages on to support an injury will not make her legs weaker - it is if they are worn all the time when there is nothing wrong with the horse that they can be a problem.

Just follow your vet's advice and fingers crossed she will be fine.

Aww, I am sorry to hear about this. Echo what others have said. Cold water nad bandages will help.

Hope she gets better soon.
