you better get the vet to come and see what they say. there are 4 cases round here that i know about with thin horses that the welfair people are checking out. if your vet checks wot you are doing they can stick up for you if anyone says your not looking after your horses proply

Halfpass - having seen the photos you posted on the other thread there is no way your horse is approaching being a welfare case. I get the impression you're beating yourself up over the weightloss, I know how it feels, been there done it myself with my girl (see http://www.horseandhound.co.uk/forums/showflat.php/Cat/0/Number/5241532/an/0/page/0#5241532 for pics) but you do NOT need to worry to the extent suggested above

MB thanks for you post. Have had a look at piccies and your horse is a stunner. The muscle makes so much difference doesn't it? Haveing most of dec and jan off with 'the freeze' hasn't helped at all. 6 weeks ago she was lean but the muscle was coming. Why does it take so long to build it up and it goes so quick?!

That seems a hellava lot of feed!! perhaps trying a more oil/nutrient dense feed would help her put the weight on.....I can't say I go much on falcon feeds, I would keep the alfa oil, and speedibeet and change the equitona for Topspec conditioning flakes and pop her on topspec balancer - have seen some great reults with this diet.....Ring topspec they are very helpful.
