My cob has become very sharp and spooky over the last few weeks which I am putting down to spring grass. This in itself does not worry me, but as he has a few important shows over the next few weeks, was thinking a calmer may settle him.

However as he is on Blue Chip is there any point in trying a calmer as I know most are magnesium based, and assuming he is not deficient in this due to the balancer, am I wasting my money?

Also has anyone had Blue Chip make their horses sharper?

Thanks

Mine are on TopSpec balancer and unfortunately one of mine is on a calmer too! Pure magnesium didn't do much but a calmer with a mixture of ingredients has worked wonders.

HorseFirst Relax Me, seems to work well on quite a few horses I know. Mine doesn't get the full dose though, I loaded for 3 days instead of 5 and now she gets half a scoop daily. I did have her on the recommended 1 scoop daily but she was really quite dopey! On half a scoop she's great and still has her mad moments.

I spoke to TopSpec about giving magnesium & it seems it's safe to give in addition to their balancer and if they are magnesium deficient the balancer may not give them the full amount they need. Not sure about Blue Chip though but it's worth giving them a call.
