I've been looking into website at balancers all last night and just can't make my mind up. I'm going to ring them today as well to see what their nutritionalists say. Basically my girl has had a few chiropratic(sp) issues and is now being brought back into work and is going to have to do lots of pole work. She is only fed happy hoof a the moment and after some kniesiology it showed that she was lacking vegeatable protein, so i have been advised to give her Hi-fi and a balancer so she is getting the vitamins and correct amount of protein. She has also had colic twice in the past 4 weeks, so hopefully a balancer should also help he gut. Topspec do a new leisure time one which sounds very interesting have any of you used this? My friend swears by Topspec. Plus it is £24.95 compared to blue chip £36.50?? If anyone has used any balancer can you give me your veiws please.

I would go for top spec and try just the feed balancer first along with your origional feed its made a fantastic difference to my friends mare who was getting tucked up and a little hot headed it calms the system down in the gut and the coats shine like a new pin hope this helps.

Have you looked in to the normal topspec balancer (not the leisure time) i think there are a few more things in it, like MSM for example which may help your horse if it has had chiropratic problems. Not sure what else it has in it that the leisure time hasnt but i know its quite a bit.

I pay £29 for a bag of the normal balancer

I have just spoken to top spec and they recommend the leisure time, as my horse is a good doer and only needs to look at food to put weight on and this has less calories in. But at the same time will help with building up muscle and topline whilst she is being worked. Thanks for your comments though, really interesting.

Just to add, i read somewhere you got a £5 voucher if you rang up. They didn't offer me one, but i did ask for imfomation to be sent through. Maybe i should've been more cheeky!

Blue chip for me. It has done wonders for my 4yo in the last few months.
Although I have never tried Top spec so I can't compare the two.

I have used both BC and the TS balancers on my horse over the years. My experience is that the TopSpec one shows good results whereas the Blue Chip one didnt really make any improvement. I have given both products a fair trial I think, I used the Blue Chip for 12 months before swapping over to TopSpec and have stuck with that for a number of years, adding in Top Spec condition flakes now that one of my horses is rapidly approaching 30!

I use the TopSpec Feed Balancer on my ISH and my sister uses the TopSpec Leisure Time on her cob. IMO it's fab, although the bag is pricey when fed at 500g a day it lasts for 40 days so isn't really that expensive, plus no need for a seperate foot supplement. You can get a trial of the top spec, about 500g I think, to see if your horse likes it before buying a bag.

i agree, i think BC is fab, but havent used topspec, dont like to mess horse about to try it either.

ive used topspec, baileys and blue chip balancer for my mare and shes looked pretty well the same on all of them(good)
i just buy depending on what the store has in.
at the moment shes on baileys stud balancer/blue chip because she has the foal and it saves me buying two different feeds.

I actually really like the baileys balancers, as they are cheap and keep them looking well. I prefer topspec when in hard work because of the msn in it for joints.

Topspec bloodstock balancer for us having always used baileys stud balancer we were able to cut feed down by half in a fortnight.

Top Spec leisure time for me (well merlin) as well, I won a bag about a year ago and was very impressed. Not used one before so was a good trial.

You often get a £5 voucher in the bag too.... lasts about 6 weeks for me fed at 500g a day.
