Hi all! I know this has probably been done to death, but you might find me some answers!!

I currently feed Simple System's Total Eclipse to my boys (one 700kg hunter worked 5x a week and hunts (at least) once and one 550-600kg cob, worked 3-4x a week and will be showing once a week soon) but I am finding it very hard to get hold of as my nearest stockist is 30+ miles away and seems to deliver round here almost never (despite saying she has a round that covers here!!). So my questions to all you lovely people are: do you think the Simple System balancer is a good/ better choice? And if not, what would you recommend and why? I'm looking at different ones here, but currently TopSpec and Blue Chip would cost me around £3 a day to feed the pair of them :O when the Simple System costs me around £1.20 for the pair. Cost effective and effective suggestions please.

p.s. the hunter does have a bit of an issue with his immune system after two wind ops and a snake bite in the last year to 18 months, so an immune booster might be beneficial. Also, he is the fussiest horse in the world, so palatability is a must!

Have a word with SS, they may be able to help - if you find a product you like and that works I'd try to stick to it. I live on a Scottish Island so things are very difficult to get here, would love the option of a 30 mile trip to a stockist. Costs of delivery here from SS were prohibitive so I just sourced micronized linseed, seaweed meal and brewers yeast from elsewhere and made up my own.

If you're happy with the Total Eclipse why not just make your own? It's just linseed, brewer's yeast and seaweed, Charnwood and others sell all the ingredients individually.

I used to use Total Eclipse and was quite happy with it, however, after having my grass analysed I found I only need the linseed so now use Charnwood Milling as it much cheaper than SS. I use Pro Balance from Progressive Earth with it which is very economical.

I was on SS previously but wasnt too good at keeping weight in winter unless a good doer. I still use their lucie pellets and bricks. However I use the top spec comprehensive balancer, he looks amazing and his weight is great (i do also use the top spec cool conditioning cubes too). Yes its not cheap but its fab in my opinion.
