Anyone have any idea where to buy decent feed buckets with fitting lids? Preferably without handles or edges that might inspire a typically self-harming TBx to do himself some damage......

Am having major war with rodents at the yard who seem to prefer Twiglet's breakfast over all others, despite three feral cats and the sonar rat repellers.

robinsons do bucket with lids here (page 2) you could easily remove the handle

you could just buy a fabric bucket cover though

The first one looks the best option, will order now

I currently have three fabric covers on top of each other and the rats either eat through them or lift them off. Trust me, they are determined little b*ggers, and are being just horrendous this year.

Wish you were closer We live on a farm and the sheep licks come in buckets with lids and we have a huge excess of them !!

I put my feeds in old treat/supplement pots and then just tip them into their feed manger/bucket to feed.

Unfortunately it is first person to yard in mornings feeds all horses. Normally it's a question of having the feed thrown over the door, so isn't really workable to have them move the feeds into different buckets.
Did think of using an Equivite tub as his morning feed bucket but too many sharp edges on them.....

Have now ordered the Robinsons ones, so hopefully they'll be here shortly!

can't you put the prepared feeds in the feed bins till you use them?

As my other reply, feeds are left outside stables for the morning as first person on yard feeds.
