At an old yard, we had a nutritionist from one of the big feed companies come out.
They brought a portable weigh bridge, weighed all the horses, then showed us wtih a weightape too. They told us a fat score and they advised feeds for each individual horse, based on work/type/weight etc.

I dont know which company it was, and would like to have someone come out and do this for my two.

Does anyone know who does it? I remember we didnt pay, is that because it was a bigger yard they came to?

Oh good.
I will have a ring around then, theres not many horses at my yard, so if they only do it for a set number of horses it might prove difficult.

Thats sounds like something I would defo be interested in. We have the same issue though as there are not many people on the yard and its just a little disused farm, not really on anyones radar tbh.

Everytime I hear of something like this its afterwards :o

Can highly recommend Top Spec for this service. Niot pushy at all but give out vouchers towards the total/part cost of their feed, balancers and supplements, and they weigh each animal.
Am about to ring them to come back as its been over a year since last visit!

Top Spec came to our yard last week, have a feeling that they would only do a minimum of 12 horses though as we had to get our whole yard weighed they may negotiate though? Number is on their website.

We have Isabel from Spillers out to the yard twice a year. She is brilliant. She condition scores each horse, weighs on a weigh bridge, gives feeding advice and we get vouchers towards feed.

There needs to be a minimum of 5 horses for a daytime visit, 10 for an evening one and 25 for weekends.

Well worth doing if you can get enough horses.
