Feed for a 2 year old welsh d gelding also in horse care an feeding :)

Just got myself a little welsh d gelding hell be 2 in may. Anyhow just wondering what to feed him.

He's been on haylage all through out winter and that's it.

That's plenty. Will he now be turned out on grass all summer? If so, apart from a mineral lick in the field, let the best feed in the world do it's job

Seconded, and if he will need worming if he has not come from a vendor who is able to give you his previous worm care information.

If he is very under done after this awful winter and non existent spring, a good worm followed by a short period on Suregrow if you have no clean keep for him yet.

I'm just started that panacur 5 day wormer with him, just mixed it in with a handful of chop I was looking at that suregrow last night but didn't want to rush into buying anything

Suregrow is quite a good idea if you want to use it to bring him in and train, groom etc and just give a handful in bucket as a treat. Always makes for a pleasant experience. If you use it like this, should last you all year!
