Hi, waiting on the vet, having brought back into work our 18 y/o 15 2 Conny, after almost a year, he is fully fit and a good weight. He has @ 5 hours turnout a day with a thinline muzzle for the next two weeks at least and @ 7-8 kg of hay a day. He is still a bit sluggish although although the Vet is super happy with him and suggested we added a handfull of pony nuts to his fast fibre, but I would be really interested what experience others have had, i understand any feed has to be low in starch/sugar and be passed by my vet. Many thanks.

Mine is on Thunderbrooks Organic nuts (2.2% sugar), linseed (cupful per day) and chaff with gut balancer, oily herbs and balancer. Unfortunately she’s allergic to Speedibeet and is wild on alfalfa.🙄 She has EMS and pyloric ulcers.

I would have a look at either Dengie Alfalfa Pellets or Dengie Alfabeet instead of the fast fibre - both Dengie products are low in sugar and starch but do have a higher energy level which could help with lethargy x You might also find that after some fittening work the lethargy will go, so that is something to bear in mind x
