feed for energy but not weight gain??

my pony is needing a bit of extra energy but i have got him at a weight that id like to keep him at, he's out on loan but i still deal with his feeding so loaner has asked if i would mind adding something if possible to boost the energy levels a little, i think pony will turn hyper lol but im not riding him again until september so doesnt put me up nor down!

anyone any ideas on what to add without weight gain? he's currently on d&h safe and sound and thats definetly not changing as he's looking brilliant on it, not keen to add a mix as they do tend to make him a little too silly!! prob difficult to get something that adds energy without calories?

No such thing I'm afraid, energy = calories.

Since energy and calories are the same, you can't have one without the other. Make sure he's getting the right amount of S & S as, if he's not getting enough vits and mins, that could be why he's a bit lethargic.

Baileys Lo-cal balancer is for good-doers, gives them the vitamins and minerals they can lack from not getting the recommended amount of hard feed.

yep i thought calories = energy was right! i think the pony just pretends to be lazy, he's always quite happy to throw in bucks etc now and again lol.

It's fitness that creates energy for work - maybe needs to do some hill work / fast work?
