Jen and Jasper are both extreamly good doers and dont really need feeding, i'd happily just give them a handfull off chaff with vits and mins in but there field mate gets quite a bit bucket feed every evening. shes in a pen outside their stable doors (she doesnt do stables!!) so if not fed they boot the doors :(

They've been having half a stubbs scoop (dry weight) of fast fibre each which has done the job nicely but suddenly they wont eat it!! halfway through a bag so dont think its something in this batch, just on sunday they werent fussed but ate it in the end and last night they didnt touch it??

So im after feed suggestions for something simlar. Nothing heating but something bulky/ i can soak so it takes them a while to eat it??

ETA: sorry that ended up really long winded!!

Molly went of FF really quickly and won't touch it and she is a greedy pig.

I'd just give them a big scoop of any of the diet chaffs, I use TopChop Lite as is mollasses free and its just like a partial hay replacement so can feed a big scoop without adding calories.

Alternatively Baileys High Fibre Nuggets can be soaked and they all love them. Slightly higher calorie though. http://www.baileyshorsefeeds.co.uk/whatproduct/general/highfibrecomplete.htm

What is wrong with chaff and vits/mins?! We are a nation of over feeders, horses, humans, dogs etc. I found it hard to not feed but have stuck with it thanks to seeing great results and having a happy vet / nutritionist / farrier etc and of course my happy horse. He has chaff / vit supp / garlic all damped down. Your horse wont know his mates are getting hard feed in their bowl! Ps mine wont eat top spec vits in his chaff, have u changed ur brand?

Another thought if you want to keep them busy - is get a small treat ball and give them a small scoop of the fibre nuggets in it. Lasts longer than a bucket and keep them busy. Molly gets a small scoop of nuggets in hers each night with a handful of chaff and balancer in a bucket.

Takes her mind off how small the amount is ;)

they already get a small scoop of Baileys High Fibre Nuggets in a treat ball, tbh the only reason i've avoided chaffs is Jen tends to hoover it down whereas the fast fibre she eats slower.

TChamp your right they dontknow whats in her bucket but they can see her bucket and see she's still eating so boot the doors. Since my stables are fairly close to my landlords house im rather keen that they dont pee him off lol. Plus i dont really want to replace the doors for the sack of a bucket of feed.

Hadn't thought of speedi beet. is it not really high in calories??
