As above really. The time has come to order winter feed but not too sure what to go for as he is prone to the runs. He is also barefoot so need to keep the sugars low.

Would something like good doer, speedi beet and naf haylage balancer be 'stomach and foot friendly'?

He is a 3yo cob, an average doer in very light work. Thanks in advance!

I honestly can't get hold of anyone round here that will deliver hay so I'm stuck with haylage. I'm not looking to give him hard feed as such, but want to make sure he's getting enough vitamins etc as he's still griwing. He's also an average doer tbh so not sure he'd do well on haylage alone.

My TB has a bit of a sensitive tum, last year he had trouble adjusting to the haylage even though i change him onto it very gradually. I put him on Actimel for a few days then changed him from his usual multivits to equimins probio supplement and it worked wonders, hes now on it all the time and so far have had no problems since, even changing fields hasnt effected him half as much as it used to.

His normal daily feed is:
Speedibeet
Linseed
Probio
coconut oil
If he needs a bit extra ii just up the speedibeet and linseed accordingly and if he still needs a touch more, id add grass nuts.
all low in sugar too as hes sugar sensitive, i dont add chaff at all, he has ad-lib haylage so didnt see the point in just adding another low calorie type of fibre feed.

My horse was prone to the runs when I bought him and it has taken me ages to find a diet that suits him. Haylage and best quality meadow hay both made him scour, as did a change of pasture.
I tried lots of things and have had the most success with a course of Egusin which really settled his gut. What seems to keep my horse well is consistent ad-lib forage from the same supplier. I bought some round bale hay from a local farmer and it really suits him. He gets as much as he can eat in a small-holed net. He is out at grass during the day and in at night. He also gets a mug of Fast Fibre, a handful of Micronised linseed, Pro hoof and Brewers Yeast. He is 7yrs, TbxWb, 16.2, ridden 4 times a week in winter and he maintains his condition on this but I up the linseed and FF if needed. I try not to change anything in terms of feed!
