My 13 hand pony has managed to have ulcers, colic and laminitis in the last five months. He also has sweet itch. I want to change his feed but need something that if it helps one condition won't aggravate another. He's 13 hands and a good doer. Just been moved onto a yard with a track system so he's currently being weened onto that. Lots of hay provided for him. Will be in light work when he can work. Anyone have any ideas?

I'd just give him a low calorie balancer in a handful of light chaff of some kind if you need a commercial feed, or failing that a powdered vit and min supplement.

what are you feeding at the moment?

A handful of chaff and a low calorie balancer. I just think there must be something that can help to prevent the ulcer situation.

Agree with PAS.
my ulcery one gets almost identical management and the vet didn't want me to change anything. I do add some equishure.

I found for both my mares the trick to managing their ulcers was to get to the route of what was causing them. Pain in both instances so you might find with the lami under control you no longer have stomach issues.

My littlest pony struggles with grass (she doesn't get much) and I've just started her on Max Gut Health to see if that stops the cowpats and gas. Otherwise they get low cal chaff, balancer and kwik beet with hay - I did try some of the ulcakind type stuff but it made no difference

Thanks. We're on the Max Gut as well as there's anecdotal evidence that it also helps with sweet itch. He doesn't need 'feed' for work so I'll stick with what we're doing.
