feed going of ?

hey i bought a bag of horse feed (dengie hi-fi origional) at the begining of this year as they were on a 2 for 1 offer, i ended up not using one of the bags as summer came, i have just started using it as he is having supplements i only opened the bag a few days ago, i then noticed the best before date was sept 2010, so my question is is it ok to feed it even after the best before date as it was only just opened ?

i think it will be fine horse food is not like milk or chicken is is made of cereals and stuff it should be fine.xx

does it smell, look and feel ok?

if yes then feed it, if not then bin it!

As it's only a Best Before date, it will be ok, it just means that it might not be as higher quality than what it was before it's best before date. If that makes sence! If it was a Use by date, then it's unsafe to use after that date. Hope you can make sence of this haha!!!
