Feed per month

One horse to feed, he is fed speedibeet, conditioning chaff, barley plus, biotin, seaweed, linseed and magnesium oxide. Used to cost about £20 week which is ridiculous but I've cut his portions down massively now he has gained more weight, now it's more about £5 a week:)

About £40 a month for one horse. Usually get through a couple of bags of nuts, bag of chaff and a weight gain mix :)

1 horse

4 bags of pure condition - £50
1 micronised linseed - £22 but lasts 3 months
1 bag Equi Jewel - £35 but last 2 months
2 bags grass blox £20

£50 + £7 + £12 + £20

Just shy of say £90

Ouch wished I just not added that up now lol

We have six section d's in at the moment, a stallion, a ridden mare a three year old, a two year old and yearling filly, a yearling colt and a section A gelding. We probably get through about half a ton of locally produced horse and pony mix that we pick up in a half ton tote bag for about £140, a couple of bags of sugar beet nuts and a couple of bags of chaff (we have recently switched to Dengie) and thats about it so probably £170 for the month.

We prob spent about £40 a month hard feed if that for 17hh boy. Chaff £10 a month, NAF Superflex £15 a month, carrots £2 per fortnight, pro-biotic mineral thingy £10 a month. Tried him on speedibeet and it gave him the runs. We were considering some sort of conditioning cube as an add in.

Ad lib haylage was a bigger priority, and we were lucky at the time it was about £20 every 2.5-3 weeks

My tb is on pure conditioning.
He gets through a bag a week.
If buying 3 at a time they are about £13 a bag but if i buy more or go in with someone to order a pallet we get a discount.

This feed is fab.
I add nothing to it.
He loves it and is looking great.
he is so fussy and a poor do-er normally.

We have four two highland a connemara and a dartmoor they get through
two bags of fast fibre 8.50=17
two bags calm and condition10.95=21.90
two bags grass8.50=17
one of sugar beet 6.95
So roughly 63 per month.
One has micronised linseed which is 27 per bag but I was given it so it hasnt cost me anything yet although I will need another one next month it has lasted 4 months so including that it would be close to £70 per month for four.
They have 12 bales of hay per month at the minute at 3.50 so 42 per month for hay

Don't want to know the cost, but this is what he gets ...

Alfa A Oil (fed at conditioning rate)
Kwikbeet
