I've just paid £10.95 for a bag of Baileys No. 4!

''OUCH'- bank balance

How much do you pay?

I remember when we used to pay £6.50! And that was only 2 or 3 years ago. I guess it'll go up again before winter is out, where will it stop?! I go through a bag a week sometimes a little more, the price of chop and supplements is also going up. I can't afford horses anyore!

Feed prices are through the roof at the moment, thankfully mine can tolerate pretty much anything so I have changed him onto straight barley with vits/mins and fibrebeet which is proving much more cost effective, Was on No.4 before and paying similar to you

We are selling No 4 at £10.94, but I am now stocking Hilight conditioning cubes. I think I'm right in saying that Hilight are a division of Baileys, their cool mix and basic cubes are great, their conditioning cubes, which are very similar to No 4 in ingredients etc, are retailing at £7.76 for 20kg, so loads cheaper, I've changed quite a few people onto them and can see they're going to fly if the price stays right. They also make conditioning mix and stud mix at sensible prices...

I use nuts instead of mix as mine doesn't care what he eats as long as its within reach, and it comes quite a bit cheaper with the same ingredients.

Agree I feed Spillers Instant Energy and it's gone up to £10 something from £8.00 in the last few months

My coarse mix went up from £8 to just over £10 in the space of a week

I'm onto barley rings and hi-fi for now, no idea what I'm going to do when the barley prices go up to!

Hi Fibre cubes (Scats own brand) £5.55 a bag, speedibeet £7.85, mollichaff £5.85 D&H build up cubes £9.58 a bag. Soya oil is now £10. Price varies by as much as £1+ from shop to shop. A car load on Saturday was £108. Add in a round bale of hay a week £20. Wish I had a money tree.

we have now gone onto feed companys own brand...just as good, half the price..better still we were getting from 1 feed merchant, went to another smaller merchant told them what we were paying, and they undercut them...for horses leisure nuts we pay £5.95 at the mo
For the companies own brand topline cubes i was paying £6 something
